Adding a removable cloths hanging bar to the shower provides additional space to hang cloths while traveling, AND, a great place to hang swim suits, wet towels, etc when parked.
In our ole Toyhouse we installed two bars, one high like this one and one about 1/2 way down.
The cloths rod end mounts and PVC pipe are available at any big box hardware store.
To install the end caps. Measure from the ceiling how far down to install the end caps, Also center the end caps in the stall. The caps are held in place by one screw in the center. Mark the location with a small “X”
Put a small dab of silicon sealant on the end cap, then screw the end caps into position on the shower wall. You might want to tilt the end cap with the slot in it slightly backwards, this will reduce the chance the rod will bounce out.
Note that one of the end caps has a big slit in it to drop the bar into.
Hangar Bar / tube – I chose to use a standard piece of PVC pipe rather than the metal bar. If the PVC pipe comes lose and falls, it won’t pinch a hole in the shower floor.
Cut the PVC pipe so it fits snug in the the end caps.
We don’t use our RV shower a lot, but when we do, we just lay the cloths on the bed, take a shower, and afterward, wipe the shower down and hang the clothes back up. The bar is also great for hanging wet swimming suits and towels.
Buy these closet pole sockets. Notice one of them is slotted at the top to drop the bar in.
